SIL16 Red-Oxide Silicone Sponge Strip (Extruded)

Limited stock in Red-Oxide, SIL16 sponge strip is a medium density closed-cell silicone that is very popular in sealing applications, particularly where vibration dampening properties are required (such as lighting housing gaskets). The ‘skin’ on all four sides provides extra protection from moisture and dust ingress compared to the SIL16 strips slit from sheet, but is slightly more expensive due to the extrusion process.
Silex sponge strips are often used for sealing electrical enclosures, exterior light fittings and handheld instruments, protecting them from moisture and dust ingress.
