Silex is a UK-based silicone manufacturer built around production control, process discipline and material precision.
Since 1985, we have developed in-house extrusion, sheeting, fabrication and tooling capabilities that allow us to control tolerances, compound selection, quality standards and lead times internally, including the production of silicone tubing.
Our customers work directly with the source of manufacture, maintaining clarity, accountability and production control from compound to finished component. This structure allows us to deliver consistency not just in product — but in performance and supply through our

Our UK facility houses extrusion, sheeting and fabrication capabilities that allow us to control quality, tolerances and lead times internally.
By maintaining production in-house, we ensure dimensional accuracy, surface consistency and repeatable material performance across both standard and bespoke profiles. Whether producing solid or sponge extrusions, sleeves, seals or gaskets, our manufacturing processes are built around reliability and precision.

Precision Tooling & Process Control
Tooling is central to performance.
Silex operates in-house tooling capabilities to produce custom extrusion tools, punches and jigs designed to meet exact specifications. Where suitable tooling does not already exist, we can fabricate and refine tools to deliver the required geometry and tolerances.
Our team works directly from technical drawings or customer samples, ensuring compatibility, consistency and production efficiency from the outset.
This engineering-led process reduces risk and supports long-term repeatability.

We stock and process high-quality silicone compounds from leading global manufacturers, led by Wacker Chemie and including Dow, Elkem, and Momentive. As a Preferred Converter for Rogers Corporation, we provide specialized technical expertise and precision conversion across their high-performance material ranges.
Our portfolio includes platinum and peroxide-cured grades, FDA-compliant compounds, flame-retardant formulations, WRAS-approved materials, and USP Class VI medical grades. We support applications requiring low-smoke, low-toxicity performance for automotive, rail, and aerospace environments.
Technical datasheets, compliance documentation, and compound guidance are available to ensure material selection aligns with all operational and regulatory requirements.
Large UK-Held Stock & Reliable Supply
Alongside bespoke production, Silex maintains extensive UK-held stock of silicone sheeting, tubing, extrusions and cord profiles.
This inventory enables rapid despatch, flexible call-off scheduling and reduced lead times for customers requiring continuity of supply. Stock agreements can be structured to support ongoing production programmes or project-based requirements.
Through our subsidiary MVQ Silicones GmbH in Germany, we also provide extended European warehousing and logistical support, ensuring efficient delivery across the UK, mainland Europe and international markets.
